Opening up our own bakery always felt like a pipe dream. I've always loved baking. From baking with my grandmother to making my father try all my Easy-Bake Oven creations as a kid, baking has always been my passion. It took me a long time to realize that if you do your passion, you'll always succeed in life. 

Our bakery started from home. As a stay-at-home mom, I started decorating cakes for my kids to save money. Then I started doing family's cakes and friend's cakes and it just grew from there. I worked at two other bakeries before opening our own to learn the ins and outs of starting a small business.

It took almost two years to figure out our name and logo for the bakery. I was having such a hard time figuring out what I wanted my name and brand to be, and my mother would always say that it would just come to me and I would know. After she passed away, the simplest thing came to me and I just knew. The bluebird of happiness. My mom loved bluebirds and the bakery is what makes me happy, so it just made sense to have bluebirds represent the bakery. The name Chatta-Cakes came to me in a dream. When I had a home daycare, I would always sing to the kids. I would always sing "Patta-Cake." And then there was Chatta-Cakes.

We opened our doors on December 14, 2013 and have been opened for about two and a half years now. Our bakery is very family-oriented and laid back. We play all kinds of music, so when you walk in, you may hear Wizard of Oz one day and then jazz and blues the next. It just depends on what craziness is going on here. We always have fun and love waiting on all our customers. We want to get to know all of them. Our customers mean a lot to us and help me continue living my dream. Welcome to Chatta-Cakes bakery.
